Official: Russia-made ABS supplies to carmakers to start in July
MOSCOW, Jun 7 (PRIME) – Russia’s first production of anti-lock brake systems (ABS) will be launched in the city of Kostroma soon with mass sales to start on July 1, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Vasily Shpak told PRIME on Wednesday.
"Concerning ABS, a local facility is being launched in Kostroma. Serial supplies of ABS to the Russian producers will start from July 1," Shpak said.
He also said that carmakers have replaced imports of electronic control units, harnesses and partially sensors. The ministry is considering organizing manufacturing of electronic stability programs (ESP) in the country.
"We are also working on ESP," he said.
